So I have been working on my third year film pre-production aswell as some 3d tests and things to see how my project will look. The basis of the film is a surreal horror in which a man is trapped in his own room knowing he is being looked for by a mysterious man/ creature.

Below is a render test of the texture for the pigmask and also partly a cloth test as the mask is made of rubber but I will also be animating the face a bit to give it a weird creature feeling.

Here are also some of the playblast cloth tests of the pig mask and then some camera tests for an establishing shot for the film.

To keep the model accurate to the actual mask I used 123d catch by autodesk in which I took multiple photos around the mask on the floor (which I stuffed a blanket into to give it a more rigid shape) then the software creates a dense 3d mesh from the information. After gaining the mesh I retopologised in maya and uv unwrapped and have done a texture test in mudbox from which you can see above.
